The 4th Global Textile Economic Forum was convened at Diaoyutai State Guest HOuse on March 23, 2007. The textile and clothing players from all over the world had a grand get-together in Beijing and had the frank talks on the topic of Science & Technology, Brand and Int'l Cooperation. Mr. Du Yuzhou, President of China National Textile & Apparel Council gave a keynote speech titled as Science & Technology, Brand and Int'l Cooperation, iterating that the prior tasks of Chinese textile and clothing industry were to implement the scientific development concept in the industry and put more efforts to upgrade the industrial technologies and develop the brands. The industry would be devoted to shifting the growth mode and expanding the international cooperation.

The senior members of the textile and clothing associations in Japan, USA, France, Germany, Italy, UK, India and Chinese Hongkong and Taiwan contributed the speeches at the event. The reputed textile and clothing producers, brand owners, scientists, economists and sociologists ect attened the conference.

It was the common recognition among all the forum participants that the fast growing Chinese textile and clothing industry was a big contributor to the world textile and clothing industry. The views and comments were widely exchanged on the topics of the common interests, like the current status of each textile and clothing industry, the latest fiber technologies, the products development, the global trade trend, the international cooperation, IPR and CSR and so on.
